THE 99% SPRING - It's time for Direct Action in the Bronx. Attend the NPA training on Saturday 4/14 - Forum/Discussions

Community groups across the country are holding direct action trainings this week to escalate our movement's fight against Wall Street and the corporations who have hijacked our Democracy and are running the country into the ground.

In these nonviolent direct action trainings, we'll meet with like minded activists and learn how to tell the story of our economy and what went wrong. We'll learn the history of nonviolent direct action and how we can take action now to create the change we so desperately need.

Our friends at National People's Action are holding a training in Bronx. Can you attend?

If you are looking for a way to get more deeply involved with community organizations that are using nonviolent direct action to escalate the fight against Wall Street and the people who profited while they ran our economy into the ditch, this is your opportunity. We asked the organizers of 99% Spring to tell us which of the 750 trainings planned nationwide were being run by dedicated community groups who had a clear plan to engage volunteers in strategic direct action on real campaigns. CREDO Action from Working Assets

The Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center, Mothers on the Move and The
Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition are joining together to
bring the 99% Spring to the Bronx.

On Saturday, April 14th from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Saint Simon Stock Church
(182nd and Valentine Ave.) we will host the national training including:

- Spanish Translation, Childcare and Food provided.

- Sharing our own experience of being the 99%.

- Learning how the economic crisis happened who benefits and why we loose
out.

- Describing the neighborhood and society that would be best for us.

- Learn about non-violent, direct action.

- Learn how Bank of America and Wells Fargo have been bad actors in our
economy and or society.

- Take action together to stand against corporate greed and stand up for
making our neighborhoods healthy and strong.

We will rise this spring, because we DO hold these truths to be self
evident that all men and women are created equal, that we are endowed by
our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life,
Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
