"DAUGHTERS OF THE DUST", Director JULIE DASH @ The Wright Museum, Sun., Oct. 30DETROIT, MICHIGANIt's hard to believe it's now 20 years since the release of "Daughters of the Dust". I was privileged to serve as Camera "B" Operator for this historic production, and I am honored to join the film's director, Julie Dash, Sharon Pryor (Camera Assistant) and Cornell Royal (actor, Daddy Mack) for Detroit's 20th Anniversary event. I'll be wearing white to align myself with the "Daughters". Look forward to seeing you there! On the 20th Anniversary of the premiere of Daughters of the Dust, The Wright Museum explores this historically and culturally important milestone, both from the angle of the film and also as the accomplishment of a film written, directed and produced by an African American woman, Julie Dash. The program will feature a 3:00pm screening of the film, 5:00pm interview & discussion with Ms. Dash and Detroit-based members of the Daughters' film crew, followed by a strolling reception.
