The legendary Rev. Willie T. Barrow Honored at Black Wall Street Chicago Fundraiser Reception  May 31 for 91st Year Commemoration of the May 31, 1921 Original Black Wall Street of Tulsa, and Rev. Barrow will receive the Lifetime "Spirit of Black Wall Street" Award for her lifetime grassroots work starting as the Field Director and Consumer Education Coordinator of Operation Breadbasket, former aide to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King starting in 1966 , then Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr, training and organizing the Black community on how it could do more for self with the example of the spirit of Black Wall Street in how to use a slice of the Black communities own consumer spending power to invest in our own community financial institutions to sustain and increase Black owned businesses, contracts, and jobs and Black institutions.

 

Please join Black Wall Street Chicago as we salute "The Little Warrior" Rev. Willie T. Barrow from generation to generation as we continue the legacy of the spirit of Black Wall Street today and how that same example of Black Wall Street can again remedy many of the ills that face the Black community by doing more for self by the way the Black community today spends it's own trillion dollar consumer spending power to sustain and increase Black owned businesses and jobs.

The Black Economic Movement of the original Black Wall Street of Tulsa Oklahoma where 35 city blocks and over 600 Black owned and operated businesses were burned down and destroyed along with 3,000 lives lost, to what does the Black community of Tulsa look like today and what is todays efforts to regain the spirit of The Black Wall Street of Tulsa with a National Black Economic Revival with todays trillion dollar Black community consumer spending power.

 

 As we prepare for the 91st year commemorations of the original Black Wall Street tragedy of May 31, 1921 we could use the ordinary people support using the year 1921 to make a donation of $19.21 to help with the organizing expenses around this 91st year anniversary events; Others commemorating 91 years later who are able can donate $91.00 Your contribution to help can be done today at The Black Wall Street Chicago offices at 4655 South King Drive, Suite 203 Chicago, Illinois 60653.
