Rev. Jesse Jackson, National Panel Call For A New National War On Poverty
Today at the National Urban Agenda Panel at The National Rainbow/PUSH 42nd Year Convention in Chicago the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr and a host a of national leaders called foe new federal government national War On Poverty stating that "Already a large majority of the American people live in metropolitan regions. In a very few years, hat number will increase to 80%. Yet there has not been a national urban agenda since President Carter. Cities and metropolitan regions have been mostly ignored, left to fend for themselves, or deal with unrelated and uncoordinated national policies. We need to build a new Urban/Metropolitan Agenda to address our urban problems and to harness the potential of the hundreds of millions of people living in our cities and suburbs."

The question is not just for Rev. Jackson. It is for you and I, all of us to ponder the nature of "War" and its implication and implication as a problem solving tool.
Language is THE creative tool. Let's use language that points to what we intend to accomplish rather than what we are against.
WAR is war.
Let's create prosperity. Invest. Build.
Focus on what's needed rather than what's unwanted.
