  •  Ms. Kay Durden, a hat designer who was recognized in Jet Magazine's April 2012 issue, is sponsoring several hat-making workshops in the states of Louisiana, Texas, and California. She is inviting hat lovers, home sewers, fashionistas, hat and church groups, and fashion design students to join her. The workshops are 3, 6 and 7 days and attendees have the option of attending four, eight or twenty-four hours of hat making.

MORE DETAILS: Kay Durden has been making and selling hats for more then twenty years, has sold her designs in numerous states, and is one out of a handful of American hat designers sharing their millinery skills. She has been endorsed by other business owners and students participating in her workshops. She is one of the only African American women who has taught at community colleges, community centers, and traveled throughout the US teaching hat making classes. Ms Durden started the first African American Compton California chapter of the Red Hat Society, and has presented mini workshops the past three years at national Red Hat conventions. She is the owner of Kays Art of Millinery, and looks forward to seeing and sharing the art of millinery with others.
