Members of National Black Wall Street Chicago and the local 47th Street Black Wall Street District were pleased to attend and support the Oktoberfest's Bronzeville Beer & Brat Bash that returned again to the new H-Dogs Restaurant at 4655 South King Drive in the same building as the National Black Wall Street Chicago offices and what I have described as a Black Wall Street Center for it as a current model of the spirit and example of Black Wall Street for it was Black owned dollars focused on a historic building on a historic corner of the historic Black community anchoring the sustaining and increasing of Black community businesses and jobs anchored with the core spending of Black consumer spending dollars.
We enjoyed a great celebration of food, beer and fun/happy people including my Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity brother Everett Rand, 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell, Illinois State Representative Ken Dunkin, PR Guru Tenille Brooks, Carl West of The TruthBTold News Service, and so many others. Chef Cliff Rome, co-owner of H-Dog with Eileen Rhodes and Kimbark Beverage Shoppe's Jonathan Swain provided patrons with plenty of selections of their respective brands and featured chefs Kris Murray and Alison Bower. The tasting events were on Friday October 26 and Saturday October 27th.
H-Dog is located at 4655 S. King Drive (Chicago)
And don't forget that H-Dogs will be one of the next featured Black owned business that we are asking the community to again show their consumer action support as part of the "Buy Black Wednesday" campaign started by me under the banner of the Rev. Willie Barrow Consumer Education and Consumer Action Project of National Black Wall Street Chicago and Matt McGill, morning show host of the legendary Black talk radio station WVON-AM 1690. We kicked it off last week and helped generate a new level of support as we directed consumers to purchase copies of the Chicago Defender Newspaper and we will continue with this example of showing how the Black community locally and nationally can rebuild with its Trillion Dollar consumer spending power when we institutionalize these grassroots organizing consumer education and consumer action efforts the ground directly showing citizens how to direct more of their consumer spending directly with community financial institutions and community businesses that sustain and increase community jobs.
So join us next Wednesday as we continue building our 47th Street Black Wall Street District with the support of H-Dogs on Buy Black Wednesday.!
