Over the past few days I have seen Black grassroots street teams for Republican Bruce Rauner for Governor passing out literature on CTA trains for the March 18th Primary. I must commend Rauner for investing in the Black grassroots community when technically he doesnt have to to win The Republican Primary. I am glad to see some unemployed Black people making some legitimate dollars for a few days versus other illegal street economies I have seen them engaged in on CTA trains and on the street. I must also commend Rauner for the number of grassroots meetings he has held in the Black community with a number of constituent groups you would have thought were Democratic, but so many of these groups have told me that even with a few days until the March 18th Primary election they STILL have had no outreach to them by The Quinn Campaign! How does The Quinn Campaign get a pass for not investing those traditional Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) dollars into street outreach teams to distribute literature prior to the election? Is the Black vote really taken for granted THAT MUCH?

If Rauner wins the Republican Primary on March 18th then I guess this investment now will help him avoid the criticism that he had no respect for the Black community during the Primary. If Rauner and Quinn win the Primaries, this investment by Rauner now will have planted him the proper seeds for what will be a major political battle in November that neither can win without the Black vote.
