Mathematically: Seventy times seven is four-hundred-and-ninety.
Metaphysically and Theo-Politically: 490 years added to 1441 years AD (since ‘Jesus’) brings mankind to 1931 AD.
Geo-Politically: 1441 is the year that Portuguese explorers captured the first set of Africans for slavery. Those ‘Christian’ Portuguese explorers did this in the name of their king, and Prince Henry, their patron. All this was ‘legal’ and approved by both Church Laws and Royal Charters.
In 1931 AD – Emperor Haile Selassie I, Karast, as Shyloh, voluntarily grants the ancient polity of Ethiopia its first Constitution. (See “The Autobiography of Emperor Haile Sellassie I: My Life and Ethiopia’s Progress 1892-1937” Chapter 29, ‘About Our Setting Up A Constitution’).
However, the Emperor did not give the people a constitution for it to be made into an idol. God Forbid! The fact that His Majesty revised the 1931 Constitution is clear proof of this.
Despite this, there are some who (not knowing any better) have for a long time treated such instruments of human governance (Laws, Constitutions, by-Laws, Parliamentary Procedures, Rules-of-Order, etc) as IDOLS to be worshipped; as religious icons that they dare not revise nor amend (nor allow to be amended) “because that was given to us by God.”
The relationship between members of the Ethiopian World Federation (EWF) and the EWF Constitution is a clear case in point.
It is full time that InI ‘bun out’ the ungodliness of religious stupidity and superstition from among the people.
Unfortunately, like with the EWF, all ‘Mansions’ of RasTafari, as well as the UNIA-ACL, founded by Marcus Garvey, have had serious problems with the use, or misuse, or abuse of their Charters, Constitutions and/or By-Laws.
Simply put: Any Law, Charter, Constitution, or By-Laws, that does not have provision(s) for amendment is not worth the paper it is written on!
Obviously, the struggle over Power has been at the crux of African peoples’ organizational problems.
However, this does not mean that InI (or we) should replace religious stupidity with political puppetry, either.
The Ankhcestors, Ancients, and Elders who didn’t allow amendment to such documents were quite suspicious of people who could manipulate words on paper, usually to the disadvantage of the Ankhcestors – and rightly so, given their experiences with the literati since at least 640 AD.
THEREFORE, CAREFUL EXAMINATION IS CRUCIAL!

BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME (MIS-LEADERS) WHO, TODAY, having belatedly accepted the importance, the instrumentality (and the potential for manipulation of, and through) Laws, Charters, Constitutions, and By-Laws, HAVE ALREADY SHOWN A WILLINGNESS TO CORRUPT THE PROCESSES, THE INCLUSIVENESS, THE CIVILIZED BEHAVIOR, AND THE PROTECTION OF INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE HUMAN RIGHTS THAT SUCH INSTRUMENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO FOSTER.
To those who have been participating in – or are thinking of participating in – that kind of Abomination, PLEASE NOTE:
You Are Known.
You Are Being Watched.
You Will No Longer Be Allowed To Corrupt Power in the Name of RasTafari.
You Will Not Be Allowed to Use Whatever Prominence, Positions, or Possessions You Have Gained To Further Take Advantage of The Powerless and the Illiterate.
WORDS, whether written or spoken, ARE NOT, by themselves, either proof nor permanent guarantees of Rightjust ACTIONS. Throughout history, some of the most inhumane and most evil entities (including churches and states) also have had Laws, Charters, Constitution, and By-Laws..
BTW, exactly from Whom, Where, When, and How did the various ‘Rasta Mansions’ and UNIA-ACL Branches (and their various leaders and spokespersons) get their initial authorization, charters, or licences?
We have seen before, and are seing again, supposed ‘leaders’ (including ‘Rasta leaders’) of Black People using their presumed ‘leadership’ of ‘phantom constituencies’ to snuggle up to, and curry personal favors with various politicians, without any rightjust collective benefit to show for their exploiting of RasTafari Culture and Faith.
It happened with Rastas in Jamaica and overseas before, and continues to happen today;
Rods and titles are still being bestowed on politicians, Celebpretties, and other people who are provably not working in the collective interest of the common-and-good people.
In fact, some of the ‘patrons’ that are being courted are proven enemies -- and descendants of enemies -- of Rastafari and poor Black people.
