The Republiican administration of PA Governor Corbett has ambushed the people with the termination of the General Assistance program, effective July 1, with no notice to the recipients. They will find out when their check doesn't come in 10 days according to a memo we received from someone Friday. This was done in-house with the Governor's approval. I work as communications director for an African American legislator and sent out the attached release today in hopes that the media will let people know what's happening. we are the only office that has exposed this travesty. SMDH Only in America do people take this sitting down.
