NEW 2013 LOW INCOME HOUSING UNITS NOW AVAILABLE
-- To help the more 30 million Americans who live below the poverty line, one web site, www.LowIncome.org, has created a free online directory of thousands of available low income housing units in all 50 states. --
• Many families in the U.S. are in need of financial assistance for housing, and one web site has proven to be a very helpful resource for them. Launched in 2010, LowIncome.org is a premier online destination dedicated to helping people find low income housing also known as "Section 8 housing".
Via the web site, users can search thousands of listings of available properties and find the answers to many frequently asked questions. They can also find a comprehensive list of resources (organizations, agencies, etc) available for their needs. The web site also features a blog that covers the latest news and happenings pertaining to affordable housing and other social issues.
Why?
According to a U.S. Census Bureau report, in 2008, about 13% of the people in all metropolitan cities (like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles) live below the poverty line. That amounts to about 33 million people across the country whose household income is less than $30,000 per year, and thus are in need of assistance for housing and food.
Sadly, because of gentrification and a down economy, many who already have low income housing are being forced to relocate. So now, there is an increasing pool of families who are either newcomers to low income housing or who have had low income housing for years, but now need to find a new residence.
"This is why the site was created," comments Dante Lee, founder. "Millions of individuals and families could use a free online resource such as ours to find what the housing they are looking for."
