- SPECIAL TO THE NEWPORT NEWSERVICE -

MARCH 9, 2010

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA – N.C.O.B.N.E., The National Coalition of Black Elders will be releasing some of the component parts of The Coalition during the days leading up to the Working Conference Weekend of March 19-20-21, 2010.

N.C.O.B.N.E. was founded to “gather, preserve & disseminate the essence of the legacy of Black Elders who survived resistance of capture, chattel slavery, second-class citizenship, and other forms of oppression to attain to the age of Eldership.”

The main “work” of the first NCOBNE Convention will be to ratify the plans of its’ Founding Administration.  Some of the component parts will be released to give delegates to the Conference Agenda Items in preparation for the meeting.

The first of the “Component parts” released is THE BLACK ELDERS MARKETPLACE (TBEM). The Delegates invited to The Working Conference are: 1) Black Elders over 60 years old 2) Younger Black Heirs of Ancestors who have transitioned who will take out a Membership in the name of their Loved One 3) Black individuals who are in preparation to productively enter Their Eldership.

There is not a Registration Fee to attend the Working Conference. However, all delegates are expected to take out a Membership Account in The National Coalition of Black Elders.

THE MARKETING OF BLACK ELDERS

REAL AND INTELLECTUAL PROPETIES

Not only will NCOBNE establish systems to carry out its agenda, systems will also be established to develop and sell products made from the intellectual and real properties of its Membership.

Examples of Intellectual Properties is the Wisdom Black Elders used to survive in a life that saw contemporaries as well as younger Black individual succumb to White Supremacy Oppression in one form or another. The Membership Account of each Coalition Member will connect to a National Black Elders Speakers Bureau (this will be read and ratified at The N.C.O.B.N.E. Convention next week).

Example of “Real Property” are the Products that were produced or acquired by Black Elders that allowed them to support Self, Families and The National Black Community, while surviving to the age of Eldership living in systems of White Supremacy Oppression. If an Elder happens to have written a book, painted a picture, a poster, or anything else, published and manufactured or not, he will be assisted in developing it into a product to be offered for sale in The Black Elders Marketplace.

As stated at N.C.O.B.N.E. website: “We have lived long enough to see many of our teachers, mentors and other committed Black men and women make their transition without careful planning to ensure that when they are gone, their material possessions, as well as the work reflecting their life purpose, is used in ways they never intended or are discarded all together …a great loss to the National Black Community in North America. We intend to arrest this loss!

“NCOBNE (The National Coalition of Black Nationalist Elders) is an Institution that will preserve, protect and utilize the Precious, Sacred Legacy of the Essence from our Membership and our Ancestors that allowed us to survive in a lifestyle that is in Resistance to slavery, second-class citizenship, and other forms of oppression.”

Most of the press releases, news articles and other materials released to the public is posted at the “Temporary Home of N.C.O.B.N.E. at www.ncobne.com
