During the past 15 years the historic Million Woman March (MWM), under the direction of its originator (strategist and initiator), Sis. Empress Phile' Chionesu, has continued to uphold and holistically develop the principles, ideals, and divine spirit from whence it came.

During the process of its evolution into a full fledged Movement for ALL women and girls of African descent, worldwide, MWM  has been confronted with many forms of sabotage, misrepresentation, and a litany of attempts to impede its true vision, and mission; as well as its actual and potential successes and victories.  It has nevertheless, not only weathered the storms, persevered, but is reaching heights not anticipated by many that includes making a presence and serious headway in the United Nations (UN).

With an array of inaccurate news reports and the intentional circulation of misinformation formulated particularly by envious, disgruntle, and/or opportunistic persons, MWM officials and supporters clearly recognized the realities,
urgency, and necessity for people of African descent to amply document, disseminate, and preserve our own history and keepers of our own legacies.

The concerns surrounding the falsifying, plagiarizing, and reinvention of stories and  important data is certainly not anything new, for Black folks in North America and throughout the world; for hundreds and even thousands of years important writings, historical facts, contributions, and inventions originated by African's original people have been manipulated, covered up and out right stolen (someone else name who often had minimum to nothing at all to do with it) .

Fortunately, today, (in 2012) the ability to lessen fraudulent attempts to rearrange history and to catch unethical or unscrupulous conduct in its early stages, it is not only easier but incumbent upon conscientious Africans, in this day and age, to do everything possible to deter and combat the illusions and ongoing twisting and spinning of truth while many strive to resurrect, restore, and secure African greatness.

To assure that the true history and legacy of the historic Million Woman March/Movement, in addition to the work and contributors of Black/African Women from, antiquity to present day, and other relevant historical events, notable movers and shakers, outstanding artistic works, significant occurrences, etc.are property kept, documented, preserved, made accessible and so forth, the National Million Woman Movement has established the MWM Historical Preservation Society,  (MWM-HPS)

A few of the first projects that MWM Historical Preservation Society is embarking upon are
  • The History of Black/African Women in Philadelphia (and PA)
  • Contributions of Black/African Women in Justice, Equality, and Freedom/Liberation Movements in North America.
  • The Underground Railroad Project
  • Black/African Women and the Arts
  • Extraordinary African Women  (Great Thinkers, Doers, and More)

As a part of the national launching of this new MWM initiative the Lil' SISTARS "Essay and Poetry" Competition for girls of African descent ages 7-17 is underway (now through June 31, 2012), and several exciting Million Woman March media presentations will be showcasing soon and a new MWM "From March to Movement" documentary is in the makings and should be ready for release in time for the "SWEET 16" anniversary in 2013. ( New Official MWM Coordinating Committees are presently being formed and will be meeting throughout 2012 through 2013)

Also for this year's Women's History Month 2012 observance, MWM's first history makers inductees (that will activate and stimulate
further research development, analysis, writings, and other historical preservation work) will be announced on Sat. March 31, 2012  10:30 PM on the
"NU Day Resurrection and Liberation"
