Hello Beautiful Spirits. Recently I sent many of you my open letter to the food community regarding my invitation to speak at TEDx Manhattan being rescinded. I was overwhelmed with support and the dialogue that was created and ultimately the apology that was issued by TEDx Manhattan and Glynwood Organization. However, I want to make sure that we stay in the positive. That we concentrate on all that is right and not only on what is wrong. That we create not "in opposition to" but instead "inspired by". That we celebrate our collective ability to reconcile and to heal. For this reason we have decided to hold our event on February 16th. To create a space of healing, reconcilation, innovation and solutions!
This will be a day of "TED" style talks, fabulous food, thought provoking art, uplifting music and engaging dialogue. Come for our "speed lunch" or Karen Washington's talk or LaDonna Redmond's facilitated discussion on healing, autonomy and moving forward...it will be a day of celebration and we need you all there.
Join us Saturday, February 16th! From conflict can come progress. On February 16th we create a platform of inclusion, celebration, discussion and action. Join us for a multidiscplinary approach to discuss food and it's affect on the South Bronx... Read More
Help us spread the word. Let's pack the house and bring our community out! Share this event on Facebook and Twitter
We hope you can make it!
