The community forum is also part of the efforts of WADU to promote decisive Pan African actions during the OAU 50th anniversary year under the African Union theme of “Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance” announced by the Chairperson of the AU Commission, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. According to Madame Zuma, the OAU anniversary is to reflect and revive the models established by leaders such as Honorable Marcus Garvey and especially President Kwame Nkrumah in his “single-mindedness and strength to achieve the mission of the social and economic liberation of our continent.”
The anniversary activities will be from May 25, 2013 through May 25, 2014 to strengthen the union of African people and communities, globally. This public meeting in Georgia is one of many during African Liberation Year across the African world focusing on strengthening African leadership, pressing for an immediate union government of Africa, and for economic initiatives for African self-reliance, African education and the union of African people, worldwide. WADU is urging immediate actions on the long delayed establishment of a union government espoused by great Pan Africanists like Marcus Garvey and Kwame Nkrumah during the upcoming OAU 50th anniversary year.
