I've learned that it is best to just "be" and do what drives you to succeed. Everything will fall into place but the only way it will is to not be distracted by what's going on around you. The less attention on the little things that are happenings or not happening will make the journey less disappointing and frustrating. 100% understand what you're saying. Let the Lord guide and that's all that is necessary.
