Today at 8:00 AM at The HOPE ORGANIZATION located at 6921 S. Halsted, Chicago Il 60621 announced they have started accepting applications for the Summer Cooling Program which begins July 7th
Who: HOPE Organization located in the Englewood community will provide thousands of low income residents with utilities assistances while funding last.
What: The LIHEAP summer cooling program will run from Monday, July 7th, through Wednesday, July 23rd or until funds are exhausted. Income eligible residents can apply for this program to receive assistance.
• Households that contain a member with a medical condition that can be improved by air conditioning, such as asthma, emphysema, respiratory allergies, coronary disease and terminal illnesses. Required documentation must include a doctor’s certification letter dated within the last ninety days, stating that the medical condition would be aggravated by extreme heat.
• Households that contain a member who is elderly (age 60 and above).
• Households that contain children age 5 or under (include all children who are not yet 6 years old, that is, up to 5 years and 364 days old).
• Households that contain a member receiving social security disability benefits or with a pending determination case at the Social Security Administration. Required documentation must include a letter of determination from Social Security Administration or receipt of social security disability benefit statement.
• Households that contain a member who is elderly (age 60 and above).
