Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer which has affected millions of population in the world. The upper layer of skin forms tumor which may spread to the adjacent neighboring cells at advance stage. There are three types of skin cancers and these are Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Malignant Melanoma.  

Causes of skin cancer

Skin cancer occurs in people with a large number of moles, and also the risk is higher in people with very fair complexion. The high exposure to the ultra violet ray and carcinogenic elements also cause this killer disease in most of the people.

Medical science has researched many successful healing procedures to heal this life-threatening disease. These are described as below:

Mohs surgery

This technique is accomplished by experienced oncologists, as it is used for the advance stage (usually for the big tumor) of the cancer. When the depth and nature of the tumor are unknown, then this technique helps the doctors to treat the skin cancer in a prominent way. Doctors remove the cancerous cells layer by layer without harming any healthy skin cells. It is typically used for Basal cell carcinoma and Squamous cell carcinoma.

Laser therapy

This is used for superficial skin in which low and high intense beams are targeted on the tumor to reduce the growth of the malignant cells.

Radiation technique

It is used when surgery cannot be performed. Highly intense beams in form of X-rays are used to reduce the effect of melanoma.

Surgery

In this procedure, doctors cut the whole cancerous area from the skin without harming any adjacent healthy cells.

Photodynamic therapy

In this technique, the laser beams and drug techniques both are used in a very careful way. It kills the cancerous cells by making skin sensitive to the beams, so a patient needs to avoid sunlight for some weeks at least for five to six weeks after the healing procedure.
