Forum on Financial Elder Abuse

Join Woodstock and our partners Thursday, June 12, for a forum to learn more about age-friendly banking, elder financial abuse, how it can be prevented, and the need for community education. With the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), the Northwest Side Housing Center, Gamaliel Metro Chicago, and Faith-filled Seniors in Action, we are bringing together seniors, community organizations, advocates, and representatives from the financial sevices industry to discuss the types of financial abuse seniors experience and how to address the problems.

The forum will be held at St. Leonard’s Barlow Center, 2120 W. Warren Blvd. in Chicago, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. We will be screening the movie “Fleeced: Speaking out about Older Adult Financial Abuse,” followed by a discussion with Q&A. To register, please contact Maria Ortiz at (773) 283-3888 or by email at mortiz@nwshc.org. See this flier for more information.

We hope you can join us for this important event.

 Dory Rand, President
