Sistas' Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, continues it's 20th Historic Landmark Season. This Saturday, November 21st@9 and 10:30pm, we feature Akua Dixon's Quartette Indigo featuring the leader on cello and vocals along with guitarist Freddie Bryant, bassist Hillard Greene and drummer Orion Turre. 

Akua Dixon is a composer/arranger and a giant in this Music of the Spirit. Quartette Indigo is her brilliant conceptual gift to the world. In this ensemble Akua sings as well as plays the cello and she has some great players with her that will make for a beautiful evening. Her last performance at Sistas' Place, during the Central Brooklyn Festival, was filmed and aired on WBGO and can be seen online:
