Congresswoman Robin Kelly Public Statement Regarding Roseland Hospital And Efforts To Prevent Its Closing

"I wanted to give you all an update on my efforts to help Roseland Hospital. Since taking office several weeks ago, I have been working behind the scenes to find a workable solution for keeping the hospital open. Roseland’s current business model is not financially viable. Without a more sound financial foundation, an infusion of money would only temporarily stave off closure.

I have been in talks with hospital and government officials about restructuring Roseland so it can remain open and be a viable resource for the community. I believe that it is necessary to have an independent assessment of the hospital conducted to determine a viable plan for its continued operation. I will continue to work to help find a plan to keep Roseland open in a financially efficient manner that serves the needs of the community."
