Chicago, IL - Chicago native, recording artist Marcus J. Austin, (MJA) takes the stage to headline the first concert in the MJA Music Group’s Soul-Vo-Lu-Tion Event Series. The musical journey will be held from 6:30PM to 11:00PM on Friday, March 29 at the historic Grand Ballroom located 6351 S. Cottage Grove, Chicago, IL 60637. Austin will showcase selections from his latest project, Evolution and his forthcoming EP project, Soul Revelation. He will also deliver his renditions of crowd pleasing classics highlighting musical greats from the past and present. The entertainment line-up will also include musical artists Spike Rebel, Jules Esquire, Safia Jalila , Loretta Lee and spoken word performer Antoinette Houston. Along with these performances, attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase items from a variety of local vendors.
Austin, who has developed a strong following with fans, anticipates concert-goers experiencing something truly unique at this event. “This is more than just a concert. I will take the audience on a musical journey that feeds their soul. My live band is amazing and I know people will be pleased with the other surprises we have in store for the evening,” explains Austin. He promises to deliver a night filled with soul, great music and good people. Wine and spirits and chef selected menu items will be available to purchase. As an added bonus, there will be a wine tasting available for the first half hour of evening.
The event also serves as a networking opportunity for local businesses and non-profit organizations. Various local entrepreneurs will be on-site to provide information and vend at the event. The current event sponsor is Octavia Hooks of the I Made You Look Salon. Two local non profit organizations will be featured at the event. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Chicago Alumnae Chapter’s EMBODI program will receive a portion of the proceeds. National Black Wall Street Chicago has also been selected to receive partial proceeds for the event. When asked what can people expect from the event Austin states, “I know it sounds cliché but expect the unexpected. We really have something for everybody. From the musical variety, to the gourmet food and the various networking opportunities this will be an event you will remember. It will touch people on many levels.” He explains that the Soul-Vo-Lu-Tion Event is an experience for all senses and people don’t want to miss this unique event.
