This is a sad day for me as I was one of the senior strategists and community spokesperson for Jesse Jackson, Jr's first campaign for Congress and one of those who helped coin the theme "young enough to serve long enough" for him to stay in Congress long enough to make history as the first Black Speaker Of The House. In some measure we grew up together in the political movement and so a public service career with so with many accomplishments with future and historic promise would have to end this way is indeed painful --  so I am still a friend and supporter as I also worked with and for his father Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr for over 30 years - so this is a sad day, but for right now I join in the prayers for his strength that only God can get him personally and family through such a time as this.
