Black Wall Street Chicago, United In Peace and Others Call For Black United Front for Congressman Bobby Rush Prayer and Protest at Metra, Thursday, May 3

VETERAN BLACK ACTIVISTS, MARK ALLEN OF BLACK WALL STREET CHICAGO AND WALLACE "GATOR" BRADLEY OF UNITED IN PEACE CALL ON GRASSROOTS BLACK UNITED FRONT FOR CONGRESSMAN BOBBY RUSH'S PRAYER AND PROTEST AT METRA, THURSDAY, MAY 3rd FOR BLACK CONTRACTS, SERVICE PROVIDERS AND JOBS FROM METRA ECONOMIC PROJECT IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY

"Congressman Bobby Rush has taken a position on Metra that all Black elected officials and those in leadership in majority Black communities must follow to finally start to putting an end to majority Black communities with desperate unemployment conditions continually watching qualified Black contractors, service providers and workers in majority Black communities not being contracted to work and watching others get access to contracts and jobs while far too many Black people find themselves caught in the middle of life threatening illegal street economies when they are more than qualified to work in their own communities.

Congressman Bobby Rush deserves a Black United Front of Black elected officials, civic leaders and grassroots community leaders at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 3rd at Metra Headquarters for his Prayer and Protest for Black contracts and jobs and then Black elected officials at every level need to follow this same example in not signing off on any new development projects where you cannot clearly see the active and systematic involvement of Black contractors, Black service providers and Black workers., and we must use this moment and this Black United Front to return to our once used themes "if we don't work, nobody works" and "cut us in or cut it out." The Black community is in a State of Emergency and from this Metra example Thursday and from this day on, we must maintain this Black political end economic drive that if Black people are not properly in the projects in majority Black communities the the project must be cut out of the Black community." Again we are appealing and making organizing calls today for a major show of support for Congressman Bobby Rush for he has certainly earned the Black communities united support on Thursday for it is more than just Metra who tests the Black communities insult level by contracting major economic development projects in majority Black communities and totally neglecting the proper contracts to the Black community contractors, service providers and jobs.

This Metra example is what helps contribute to the violence and death in the Black community and so we must fight Metra and those who follow Metra example that they can no longer force the Black community into life threatening illegal street economies when we have qualified Blacks who can do the legal work on any and all economic development projects in majority Black communities"

RUSH TO HOLD A JOBS PROTEST MARCH vs. METRA

Will pray and protest on Thursday

For those wanting a job or for contractual inclusion in the controversial $86 million Englewood “Flyover” METRA contract, Rep. Bobby L. Rush (D-1st) Tuesday made a clarion call for supporters to meet him at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the METRA headquarters, 547 W. Jackson Blvd. on the corner of Jackson and Clinton.

“We will be protesting the paucity of contracts of the Englewood “Flyover,” said Rush. “We are demanding that METRA rebid this contract. We want everybody there who wants to fight for more jobs to meet me at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 3rd at 547 W. Jackson Blvd.

“We are asking all the clergy and bible classes to mobilize their people and get them down at 547 W. Jackson on this Thursday at 10 a.m. so that we can demand that METRA rebid the $86 million contract,” said Rush.

“In order to get employment, we have to fight for it. We are asking the entire community to show up. In order to get a job, you have to fight for employment by getting more contracts and more opportunities,” said Rush who in 1987 single handedly stopped the demolition of the 40th Street Green Line El Station. Today, it has been remodeled and is still open.

Reminded that this Thursday is the National Day of Prayer, Rush, who is also a minister, said, “We want to have prayer and protest.”
