The movement to force the Washington National Football League franchise to change its racist name has made unprecedented gains in recent months. Major media outlets have publicly stopped using the name, major personalities in and outside of sports have denounced it, and even President Obama has said that a change is something he would consider. But Daniel Snyder, the team's owner, remains steadfast in his insistence on using the ages-old racial slur and the team's demeaning logo.

We are supporting the work that the Oneida Nation and other Native groups are carrying out nationwide by building grassroots support among people in the DMV area. Join us in Columbia Heights for a day of education and outreach as we spread the word about the team's and name's history as an emblem of racism and work to build the fight in the grassroots!
