Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium (CBJC) will introduce its newly elected chairperson, Mr. Clarence Mosley, Jr., on Wednesday, February 2nd during an reception at Brooklyn Historical Society located in Brooklyn Heights section of the borough from 6 to 7:30 PM.  This event is open to New York City's business and cultural communities.  Clarence Mosley is a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase and a jazz pianist.  Past chairperson Jitu Weusi remains with the organization as a member of its executive board.  For information call CBJC at 718.773.2252 or e-mail, info@cbjcjazz.org.
 
Clarence Mosley is a Business Banking Area Manager and Vice President of JPMorgan Chase with 37 years of banking experience.  Clarence has held several management positions in retail banking, business banking, marketing and finance.  Most recent positions were Diverse Markets Manager responsible for providing advice and financing to start up companies, developing solutions and lending to not for profits companies and developing a platform for emerging market businesses with a focus on African American, Hispanic and Asian Businesses in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Texas.  He is a graduate of Stuyvesant H.S., received a BS in Economics from Fordham University, a MBA from Long Island University, and a graduate of the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth's School of Business. 
 
Mr. Mosley was born and raised in Brooklyn, studied music at Brooklyn's jazz shrine The Muse under the direction of jazz great Bill Barron.  He has performed with the likes of Alex Blake, Curtis Fowlkes, Fred Miller, Roger Johnson, Guy Sahadeo, Steve Lee, Gregory Calhoun, Lenny Rodgers, in the band of Kenny Rodgers, and at the legendary East with Shuvah Ensemble.  Clarence's background as a grass roots musician and in bank management will serve Brooklyn's noted jazz organization, CBJC, well as it continues to provide cultural diversions for the community. 
Founded in 1999, the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium is an amalgam of patrons, entertainment venues, musicians,  faith based and community organizations.  Over the past 11 years CBJC has presented an annual spring festival, established a Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame & Museum™, and produced yearly programs that feature local jazz talent.  CBJC is a nonprofit corporation committed to preserving, promoting and supporting live music within the under served communities of Brooklyn.
