Nandi Keyi-Ogunlade (UK/Trinidad & Tobago) began her writing career as a journalist in Toronto. As a playwright, her work appeared in the Toronto Fringe, the Du Maurier Theater Series, the Inaugural Caribbean Regional Drama Festival and other prestigious stages. Her work was also anthologized in Beyond the Pale (Playwright's Union of Canada). Nandi's seminal essay "Still Shipwrecked on the Shores of My African Self," was published by the international peer review journal Changing English: Studies in Research and Culture (University of London & Taylor and Francis). Her work also appeared in special issues of New York's Daily News. Eventually, Nandi's dance with destiny placed her on the playgrounds of New York City, and in the homes of strangers taking care of their children. This experience inspired her ground-breaking debut novel - The True Nanny Diaries.
