Demonstration/Rally And Press Conference To Call For Criminal Charges Against

St. Louis Police Officers Involved In The Shooting Death Of

Cary Ball Jr.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2013 there will be a demonstration in front of the St. Louis Police Department, 12th & Clark Avenue starting at 11:30am. This demonstation/press conference is being organized by the Ball family and the Universal African Peoples Organization which is headed by veteran human rights activist, Zaki Baruti.

Cary Ball Jr. was shot and killed April 24, 2013 by members of the St. Louis police department who claimed he pointed a pistol at them. However, there are credible witnesses who say that "his hands were up in the air with no pistol", yet he was shot 25 times of which 7 shots were to his back. Cary Ball Jr. was also a honor student at Forest Park Jr. College and was well respected by his fellow students and faculty members.

Later that evening there will be a rally against the ever present danger of violence in our community and the Cary Ball Jr. case in particular. This rally will begin at 7:00pm and will be held at the Epithany United Church of Christ, 2911 NcNair. For more information call Zaki Baruti (314) 477-4629.
