"Cuba: An African Odyssey" tells the story of the Cold War through its least known theatre: Africa. Soon after their own victory in 1959, the Cuban revolutionaries decided they must do what they can to aid the forces of liberation on the African continent. Cuba came to the aid of the Congo, Guinea-Bissau, and Angola, among others. The film includes unique archival footage and various interviews from both sides of the Cold War.
This July, as we conduct our annual celebration of the Cuban revolution, we are also organizing to stop the U.S./NATO war on Libya and the African continent. This film acts as a critical resource in reaffirming the importance of internationalism and the need for a united front against all imperialist aggression.
Join us the A.N.S.W.E.R Coalition, during this very important month, as we celebrate the revolutionary histories of Africa and Cuba.
