The event celebrates the 57th anniversary of the July 26, 1953, assault on the Moncada barracks. The Moncada assault, led by Fidel Castro and other Cuban rebels, launched the revolutionary July 26th Movement, and paved the way for the struggle that toppled the Batista dictatorship in 1959.
