I was mystified, early on in the Liberation Struggle to find many of my mentors were more "radical" and involved in our struggle than their own children;

Today, in the year 2011 i am surprised to find that brothers (good & sincere) brothers and sisters do not see the value in doing what the so-called "Tea Party" crowd; now the Occupiers of Wall Street has the potential to cause: a crisis to "the system."

The two named Protest movements are willing to back the American government to the wall unless concessions are given to what they have said very loudly that they want (the Tea P. have demonstrated their willingness; the Wall Street Occupiers may or may not be willing to go that far, but the potential is there).

 From where i see, the Tea Party is the greatest threat to the U. S. that i have seen since the 1960's with the Black Panthers & etc. I understand why it would be so very objectionable to add to their weight the support of Black people could help in taking the country to the wall: their obvious racism would probably blind them to acceding to any of our substantive demands, like Reparations.

On the other hand, the Occupy Wall Street Protesters would be easier to us to high light and demand our core issues (like Reparations). So given the present circumstance that the National Black Community find itself in today, why are some of our folk who sound and act "militant" reluctant to weigh into an action that will bring our oppressors such grief....certainly none of us believe that U. S. government like to see demonstrations in this country like the ones they OBVIOUSLY enjoyed and probably helped to bring to a crisis in Libya, Egypt, Yenen etc.

After all is said and done, i don't see how any of us for one minute think the U.S. will be brought down as the Egyptian government was: the 1% will not allow it (they may allow them to be bloodied, as they have already done) but they will concede to some of their demands, even if they kill some of them. They are crazy but they'll NOT lose their power/money if they can give a little back; enough to stop the demonstrators.

Do we remember how they beat up on and actually killed too many to count of Black people during the 1960's, but in the end they gave up something to quell the revolt while sicking the dogs (Richard nixon, J. Ethel Hoover) on the really radical segment of our community.

I would be the last one to suggest that any of us get caught out there when white people offer white people something to get them to stop demanding more from 99% of people in this country...but it is actually time for Black people to wadge a better strategy to win our struggle........Marcus Garvey told us that a man will bluff you if you let him (paraphrase), but when you have justice on your side you don't really have to bluff, you just have to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you....and know when to hold them and when to fold them....

It is the year 2011 and Black people still aint free! But i am afraid, for the most part, we are trying to win our freedom employing the same strategies that was deployed over the past 500 years or so...meanwhile their tools of oppression are continually being updated...occupirs of wall street are using high tect stuff to assist them in what they are doing....ask yourself, how far are we from using the means that are available to them (and us too, perhaps to a more limited degree, but we don't have to give up any of our pure demands to go a certain distance under this energy....think about it 99% vs 1%.

 Who within the 99% are confused about where you are in those numbers? I actually like the pure thinking i hear coming from some of our Black leaders. Purity is for keeps....but if you don't think you can play a power hand and hold to purity...i guess i just don't get it and i admit it..................Khalifah
