Marion Anderson hates the "underwear-exposing, pants below the butt" fashion now in vogue with many of the city's young men.
"It's ridiculous," said Anderson, a professional tailor. "What bothers me is the origin of that influence."
The style was adapted from prison garb, where pants hang low on butts because jail authorities confiscate inmates' belts.
"We have to find something more positive to replicate than something from the jails," Anderson said. "But the point is these young men have
this vacuum in their minds. They're ready to absorb anything, much of
which is undesirable.
"I want to give them something positive to replace that weird notion."
hmmm...i thought it came from prison where you let your pants hang low off your butt to let others know that you're 'available' thus the change to the orange jumpsuit...but i could be wrong
