In Igbo culture, every individual has a Chi that is the determinant of their destiny. The Chi predicts success and failures- misfortune is attributed to the Chi. The Chi has been described as the 'personal god of an individual' (Chinua Achebe) but it is also the 'summary of an individual'.
The Chiology way to happiness is a systematic approach intended to increase love and happiness in the Chi of an individual.
It is based on concepts of ancient and current Igbo culture. Negative emotions such as revenge, anger, sadness, grief, jealousy, un-forgiveness, etc could lead to misfortune.

Very interesting. Although I value African traditions, it is important to remember that our destiny lies in our hands and is determined by our thoughts, emotions and actions.
African people have a tendency to be too reliant on other-power. We tend to lack confidence in self-power. We need both, self-power and other-power.
