Washington, D.C.—Last month, more than two hundred people convened at the White House Tech Inclusion Summit—an unprecedented gathering of innovative thinkers from business, government, non-profits, and the tech world seeking to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to learn tech skills–particularly those from underserved and historically underrepresented communities, including women and girls.

National BDPA will host is 35th annual National BDPA Technology Conference and Career Expo in Washington, D. C. this year. To that end, Monique Berry, President, National BDPA, will meet with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) today (February 11, 2013) to present NBDPA's agenda and FY13's calendar of events.

Several conference and host chapter events during the week of August 12-17, 2013 are invitation only and require current names and contact information for security and access from participating BDPA Members and BDPA Student Members attending special events. If interested or have availability during the week of this year's conference in Washington, BDPA Members, HSCC/IT Showcase participants, Youth Technology Camp (YTC) students, and college students are invited to join, renew, or update BDPA Membership Profiles in order to receive important event invitations and registration deadlines for BDPA Members only.

Student and Chaparone names with contact information for NBDPA's White House visit during this year's conference in Washington are due no later than February 15, 2013 to your local BDPA Chapter Presidents, HSCC, IT Showcase, Cyber Challenge, and YTC Coordinators.
