Robert Acquaye is a founding partner of FASTSIGNS of Newark. In his current position, he and his wife, Denise, run this independently owned FASTSIGNS franchise located in downtown Newark, which was a new start-up that opened its doors in October 2012 and since then has quickly risen to one of the fastest growing locations in the nation among more than 600 centers. This Newark, NJ, location was specifically selected because it’s a very large city with an underserved market that has a need for basic services from copying and faxing for local residents to the need for the city’s businesses to have access to top-notch marketing and branding visual communications services. Through hard work and good decisions, since its inception five years ago, the company has reached the $90K monthly milestone and has set the $250K mark as its long-term future goal. (As Robert correctly noted, there will always be a need for signage!)

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Robert was an accomplished executive who, for over 30 years, worked for some of the most distinguished publishing and Fortune 100 companies, including Johnson Publishing, Earl Graves Publishing, Medical Economics, and Fairchild Publishing. He managed more than 40 magazine titles serving all types of industries and interests.

Through the Small Business Administration, Robert recently completed the SBA Emerging Leaders Initiative; a highly competitive seven month training program that focuses on executives of established businesses poised for growth in historically challenged communities. With a nearly 100% customer satisfaction rate, the Acquayes are very involved in the community and support all churches, individuals, and businesses, no matter the size or industry. They also offer free banners to returning Military personnel.
