He was a true people’s leader who marshalled the popular will of the Venezuelan people to make history with their own hands!...Voting for a socialist-oriented change that allow that oil-producing country to use its wealth to reduce poverty, expand access to education and health care and reduce suffering among the poor!
Let it also be appreciated that he also withstood the ultimate test of his time! Not just at the ballot box, but in the face of a CIA-orchestrated coup attempt in 2002! In the face of that injustice, challenged by the chauvinistic violation of Venezuelan national sovereignty, it was not force of arms that saved the days or worsened the crisis through the force of armed repression; It was the overwhelming masses of the Venezuelan people, taking to the streets in the thousands, refusing to accept that dirty and then marching their leader right back into power!
The New Black Panther Party stands in full solidarity with the Venezuelan people and with Vice President Maduro as he now takes command at this most sensitive moment. We pray that they able to hold the line and carry on their glorious experiment!
Long live Hugo Chavez! Long live the Bolivarian Revolution!
And as our Revolutionary Father, the immortal Malcolm X aptly said once. “It’ll be the ballot or the bullet!...It’ll be liberty or death!...It’ll be freedom for everybody or freedom for nobody!”
President Chavez, we salute you, sir!

Was there a leader that did not concede power for himself?
Is there a leader who served his country and the people of the world as he said he would?
There was Hugo Chavez.
In honor of César Chavez, I say: Long Live Chavisimo!
