Sister Njere served as the National Secretary of N'COBRA for eight years. I served on the National Board of Directors for six of those years. She also was Co-Chair, with myself, of The Human Resources Commission during the time. She was fiercely loyal, loving, caring and totally committed to the Liberation Struggle of Afrikan people; and understood that Reparations is the main component part of our Liberation Struggle. She was as true to her Mothering as she was to our Noble Struggle. She managed the three challenges to Black womanhood - Wife, Mother and Commitment to The Struggle, as well as anyone of our time....she was nurtured and mentored, as many of us was, by Dr. Imari A. Obadele, i was present when he encouraged her to first stand for election as N'COBRA Secretary: She played an essential role in the building of N'COBRA - taking impeccable notes while participating in the discussions that helped N'COBRA achieve it's first "Priority Mission." That was to "Educate the Black Masses about our right to Reparations." She lived long enough to see this mission accomplished. I will miss my long discussions with her as we struggle mightly to identify and define the Next Priority Mission: some way, some how to establish systems to Back up our Demand for Reparations..............Khalifah FTP MOVEMENT: FOR THE PEOPLE * MAMA'S ARMY * MOTHERS OF BLACK & BROWN BABIES WE RECEIVED THE SAD NEWS THAT OUR WARRIOR SISTER WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT LAST NIGHT.
