8000065264?profile=RESIZE_710xRoger, as a member of NAKO from its inception and longtime advocate of the Nguzo Saba and Kawaida, was a dedicated, serious, studious, disciplined believer and practitioner of the Nguzo Saba. He used this knowledge in training, mentoring and coaching hundreds of youth in the Queens, New York, community - in the numerous and varied programs he selflessly worked in; whether academic, cultural or sports related. He was always willing and ready to be on time and on post, or do whatever was needed, asked or demanded of him.

Brother Roger was: Humble but not weak; Studios & knowledgeable but not boastful; Disciplined but not rigid; Worked very hard but never whined or complained of being tired; He gave a lot of himself but never asked for much in return

Having risen in radiance in the heavens, Roger will always be for us:

      “a glorious spirit in heaven and a continuing powerful presence on earth. He shall be counted and honored among the ancestors. His name shall endure as a monument. And, the good he has done on earth shall never perish or pass away.” The Sacred Husia

So, as we say in Kawaida, to and for his spirit as it transitions towards joining our other numerous, glorious and great ancestors:

May the good he left last forever;
May the ancestors welcome and greet him warmly with open arms, and;
May his spirit assume whatever form in whatever place it desires in the afterlife –
