“We have a common oppressor, a common exploiter, and a common discriminator…Once we all realize that we have a common enemy,
then we unite, on the basis of what we have in common…"
Malcolm X—Message to the Grass Roots

MALCOLMITES MOURN MANDELA’S PASSING!
CHIDES HYPOCRISY OF AMERICAN OFFICIALS!

The Malcolm X Commemoration Committee joins the international community of progressive peoples in mourning the passing of the legendary Nelson Mandela.
During his captivity of 27 years on the death pit of repression and incarceration that was Robben Island, he was an ncredible source of inspiration for our our freedom fighters here in the united states, most of whom are still wrongly incarcerated.
We deplore the hypocrisy surrounding his death coming u.s. officials, however, especially those coming from President Barack Obama and former presidents Clinton and Carter. They all claim to have been deeply moved by their historic encounters with Mr. Mandela once he became president. They all visited his torture chamber that was Robben lsland. They all claim to be have been changed by their encounters with this great man. Yet none of them, and these are the Democrats, the socalled Liberals, have used their influence to secure the release of not one single political prisoner here in the united states! Not one! Many of our freedom fighters have now been incarcerated up to 40 years and more, longer than Mr. Mandela himself!
Clinton’s posturing was especially despicable because he is associated with more prison building than any other u.s. president and he went out of his way to help the state of Pennsylvania set the stage to execute Mumia AbuJamal by signing the Expedited Death Penalty Act, which gutted habeas corpus provisions for redress for people wrongly convicted of capital crimes, and he did that on April 24th1996, on Mumia’s birthday! By the grace of the God of our ancestors, the people’s mobilization checked that bloody hand.
President Obama’s hypocrisy cannot be dismissed either. His Justice Department has been absolutely silent on petitions for redress for political prisoners and has been just as pitifully silent on the escalation of police terror in black and brown communities savaging our human rights. He sat on his hands and let the execution of Troy Davis go on without saying a word, all certified unanimously by the u.s. supreme court.
Yet our people continue to be overwhelmingly uncritical supporters of the Democratic Party. We say to our people so committed to do at the very least ‘Demand that this president grants relief for all of those men and women who were targets of COINTELPRO operations by granting them their unconditional release in the interests of justice! ‘ By the way, President Obama is said to read his mail and he is also on facebook. Give him something real to read!
Don’ t let these ‘leaders’ tell us how much they loved and admired and were ‘changed’ by Mr. Mandela, make them show us!
Que Viva! Mandela, Que Viva!...Long live Nelson Mandela…
A Luta Continua!....The Struggle Continues…
Free all political prisoners! Free the land!
