ANDRE OZIM - ENTERTAINMENT - ACTOR

Rising star and go-getter - actor Andre Ozim - wanted to get out of his comfort zone and see what was out in the world for him. Born in the small town of Oklahoma to a Nigerian mother, Andre is from the Igbo tribe and his last name – Ozim – means “message.” Andre is a stage and screen actor who grew up in Washington, D.C. and – at the age of 21 – quit his internship as a paralegal and with only $40 in his pocket, moved to New York City in pursuit of finding his passion and lived out of his car for 8 months. While on this self-discovery journey, he found his passion in acting. He is classically trained in Shakespeare, including taking workshops at various conservatories in London, England, and he studied the Lee Strasberg Method in New York City.

He’s active in theatre, film, television, and standup comedy. He’s worked with Signature Theatre Workshop, National Black Theatre of Harlem, Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Columbia University MFA, and many other theatre production companies. He’s done film work with NYU Tisch and has had guest spots on television shows such as “Gossip Girl” on the CW Network. He also did his first billboard ad in 2016 - for Pepsi soda and it ran in Uganda!

He starred in the short film "Jahar" – a story about the 2013 Boston Marathon Bomber, which premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. He has a uniquely “serious” sense of humor that shines through in the writing and directing he does with his sketch comedies. He’s been an Active Youth Mentor with Junior Achievement of New York since 2012 and is “focused on using TV and film as a medium to entertain the youth in efforts to inspire change."
