Sis Mushirah Pauline Wilson
ARM is assisting in raising funds for laying to rest our dearly departed sister Mushirah Pauline Wilson, who suddenly joined the Ancestors on Thursday, 5th June, 2014.
Sis Mushirah was a long standing community activist of over 30 years distinguishing herself in her extensive service to our children and young people, by procuring Afrikan centred resources for their care and education. Amongst other things, she helped to establish the Kokayi Day Nursery, organised Rites of Passage programmes and worked extensively with “youth offenders” and the prison welfare system. Sis Mushirah left one son, young Bro Wachuku, a fine young man, who is, of course, devastated at the loss of his mother and who was alone when he discovered that she had passed.
Like many activists, Sis Mushirah gave many years of voluntary service to our people, sacrificing her own personal needs and interests. Now is the time to reciprocate and demonstrate to her son, the meaning of community and that his mother did not sacrifice for our people in vain. Every contribution no matter how small will help.
The funeral service will be on Friday, 20th June, 2014, 11:00am @ St Mary’s Church, Lansowne Rd, Tottenham N17 9XE. Interment: Strayfield Rd Cemetery, Cedar Rd, Enfield, EN3 0TH.
