NATIONAL RADIO HOST PERSONALITY - BOB LAW

Bob Law was the host of Night Talk, the nation’s first nationally broadcast daily Black call-in radio show, which aired on the National Black Network for two decades throughout the 1980s and 90s. Bob also served as Vice President of programming, Operations Manager, and Program Director at New York’s WWRL during the 1970s glory days of Black radio. He was also a board member of the historic Black Music Association. In 2007 Bob hosted a midday talk show on WURD AM in Philadelphia, where he was also the national program consultant.

Bob is the author of The Magic Crown, a play for children that is still being performed in NYC public schools. He also authored Voices For The Future, which was published by African American Images of Chicago. His first film Saying It Loud, a documentary about the power and significance of Black radio, received best film award at the 2015 Black International Cinema Festival in Berlin, Germany, and is still being well received by audiences around the country.

Bob founded the Namaskar Capital Assistance Program, which developed and managed a loan program for Black-owned small businesses. His Agenda 2000 health, business, and personal development seminars throughout the 1990s were sold out events. Along with his wife, Bob owns Namaskar, a health and wellness store located on Atlantic Avenue in downtown Brooklyn. It has been a neighborhood staple for more than 25 years.

Bob remains a community activist. In 1995 he served as the New York State Chair of the historic Million Man March. He also spearheaded the class action law suit filed against the New York City Department of Education for the miseducation of African American Youth. Currently, he is one of the national spokesmen of the Peace Keepers Global Initiative, an anti-violence movement based in Houston, Texas. He is active as one of the principal PowerNomics organizers, a campaign for the economic development of Black America. He is also Chair of the Central Brooklyn Leadership Council, operating under the auspices of the Men's Ministry of the Historic First Church of God in Christ, in Brooklyn, New York. In 2017, Bob founded the National Black Leadership Alliance (NBLA), which focuses on getting positive messages and images out to counter the onslaught of negativity being advertised in the Black communities through the media.
