Ras Ichel passed in Trinidad?

Greetings in the name of H.I.M. First Haile Selassie, Hail Sis Ijahnyah, Rases/Dawtas of CRO/the Caribbean Rastafari Organization. Heard that Our Beloved - Ras Ichel passed in Trinidad? How did he pass? He and his - Rastafari Community/Pan-African/Regional works will be sadly missed! We cherished Our relationship with him during Our UWI days from 1979-1984, and the last time We spoke with him (in person) - after he returned from Barbados for a short visit. We have not forgotten that in the first year of Our undergrad days, he lectured Us briefly in the 'Introduction to Sociology' course and that We also did a few 'Tutorials' with him. We spoke twice to him after his the publication of his book, 'Rastafari in Transition,' [published by Frontline, Chicago]. We thanked him for acknowledging Our written work entitled, 'Rastafari and Politics...,' as responsible for helping him to gain the basis for his Doctorate - that was twice put down before then. We further thanked him for acknowledging Us and Our other Academic and Community activities, throughout his work, 'Rastafari in Transition.' We last spoke to him by phone some years ago in 1990s - while he was among the Frontline Book Publisher and Rases. We also salute him for been one of the few Rases from quite early in the 1990s that acknowledged the necessary positive role of The Crown Council - in exile - and the NEED for the Restoration of the Solomonic Dynasty in the form of a 'Constitutional Monarchy.' All of which was evident in his acknowledging Our written work: 'Rastafari and Politics...,' in his book, 'Rastafari in Transition,' and other Papers that formed a prelude to his Doctoral thesis and book. We also will remember his 'brief' email salute to Us upon Our AU 6th Region NYS election. We will also cherish his input on the RNCI Tele-Reasoning, when We invited him to be a Special Guest, to tell of the then planned Pan African gathering lead by his then led 'Pan African Commission of Barbados.' Thereafter We made several outreach to him to get info on the PAC Barbados status but did not receive any answer. This morning We were moved-by-The Irit [Spirit] to send an email to him [yourself and other - respectively] seeking 'collective' assistance for Rev Buddy; only to be told a few hours after by Sis Maxine that she gathered from you that he passed. He will be sadly missed by Our Community and Pan Africanist world! Ras Ichel Tafari (Michael Hutchinson) is a brilliant Scholar; visionary Pan African Activist; insightful Writer; provocative Journalist and Friend. He was one of the first scholar and Ras to tell of the significance of Ras Boanerges and his founding of the Youth Black Faith: Nyahbinghi Order of His Majesty. He lived among 'The Bone'/Bongo Watu for a few years while lecturing at a tutorial level at the Sociology Department, Mona, Kingston, Jamaica. After he left for Barbados, We lived for a few years with Bongo Watu. It was here that We were told first hand by Our Elder of the Youth Black Faith; and, that he was a Founding Co-Architect of the YBF. We immediately began the full propagation of the Nyahbinghi Order on the academic and communal front, e. g. YBF Journal 'Circular,' and the ILA/the Ithiopian Liberation Working Committee - A African Liberation Committee of the Nyahbinghi; that led to Us starting and Chairing the National Anti-Apartheid Movement (NAM) - A Southern African Liberation Committee. Ras Ichel must be remembered for bringing The Nyahbinghi Order to Barbados and throughout the Caribbean, with his invitation to [the late] Ras Boanerges/Bongo Watu - Sons of Thunder/Rases of the Nyahbinghi. His initiation of the PAC in Barbados; his role at the Durban Conference and the 'attempts' to further the PAC activities - inclusive of the Rastafari International Community - recently, will long be remembered. All of these activities form a basis for Us to 'collectively' move forward. Please relay to his Family, Brother/Sisters/Rases/Dawtas - in struggle - in Barbados/throughout the Caribbean (CRO) Our SALUTE to him. Ras E.S.P. Mc Pherson Founder Chairman Ethiopian National FRont (ENF); Co-Chairman Moa Anbessa (The Conquering Lion Organizing Committee/ 'Ethiopians for a Constitutional Monarchy') (Jamaica/USA); Co-Rep./Co-Alternate African Union (AU) 6th Region - NYS/Region (N/S/Central Amr.); RNCI Co-Founder, Chair of Foreign Affairs & Relations Sub-Committee
