African Trackwoods will be displaying their handcrafted furniture, for the first time, at the Manchester Furniture Show this weekend, with the use of a Prestige Exhibition Stand from Quadrant2Design.

gI_61602_IMG_6721.png?width=450Handcrafted from the railway sleepers that previously formed the integral foundations of the Cape to Cairo railroad throughout the majority of the 19th and 20th centuries, each piece of African Trackwoods’ furniture retains both the history, and the natural beauty, of these traditional African resources.

This year will see the company, who are based in the lively Zimbabwean capital of Harare, exhibit their individual homewares, for the first time at the Manchester Furniture Show.

The Manchester Furniture Show, which takes place from 19th – 21st July 2015, at Manchester Central, has been one of the UK’s leading furniture exhibitions for more than fifty years. Bringing together a multitude of furnishings, from designers big and small, from all over the world, as well as industry experts giving advice on the latest in interior design, the Manchester Furniture Show is one that is not to be missed.

African Trackwoods use skilled carpenters to recycle, and handcraft, the original hardwood sleepers, which are predominantly made from African Teak, Salinga, and Paga Paga, all three of which are indigenous to the Southern African forests, into a series of stunning homewares.

Alongside their traditional range of African railway sleeper furniture, African Trackwoods will also be showcasing their steel and teak lamp table designs, as well as wrought iron and teak café tables. To showcase these beautiful wares, the company will be using an exhibition stand designed, and supplied, by the Poole-based exhibition stand specialists, Quadrant2Design. With striking, seamless effect graphics depicting the unique furniture created by the company, and high level branding, the stand is sure to make sure that the newcomers stand out within the Manchester Central exhibition hall.
