3828854427?profile=originalChudi Offodile’s new book “The Politics of Biafra: And The Future Of Nigeria” (published by Lulu), focuses on examining and analyzing the impact of the ideological struggles in Biafra, Nigeria, during the war from 1967-1970 and the importance of history in dealing with the current issues for the future of Nigeria’s multi-ethnic society.

Offodile remarks that Nigeria still continues to be confronted with the Biafra dilemma although it has been nearly 50 years since the end of the Nigeria-Biafra War. The author argues that in this era of technology-inspired globalization, it isn’t possible to “hold an unwilling people hostage in any country without negative consequences.” He also declares that Nigeria needs change to create a productive economy that uses the talents and resources of the people, and presents choices for addressing or avoiding conflicts among different nations that co-exist within the country.

Offodile hopes that from this book readers will gain, “a better appreciation of political and ideological conflicts in Nigeria and Africa.”
