The first line is from Diana Ross' song, "No One Gets The Prize." This first liner does affect me as I have seen friendships ruined over fighting over a man. My ex-husband and a very young friend flirted at a holiday dinner in 2004. Our marriage was over at the time. It was not all my friend's fault. Yet, she did encourgage my then-husband. I never said a thing to either of them but was just disappointed with such uncouth behavior. Our friendship faded as I divorced my husband and eventually married well. Her life....just tanked out. Her daughter is doing bad stuff on a social networking site.
