Across the world, people are being sold, trafficked across borders and forced into situations I can hardly imagine. I just pledged to mobilise governments, businesses and communities to end modern slavery. Will you join me?

It’s a centuries-old evil, with a modern day big business twist. Slavery contributes to the manufacture of goods from garments to chocolate and coffee; women and children are tricked or trafficked into sex slavery all over the world, from New Delhi to New York. In total it’s a $30 billion US dollar-a-year business.

People are coming together behind a new global movement to end modern slavery, called Walk Free. Right now we’re building a massive petition to world leaders, which will be delivered to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, asking them to make eradicating modern slavery their priority.
