Micae Brown Named New Host For WVON's 'Urban Business Roundtable'
- Published on Monday, 30 March 2015
Chicago native Brown has most recently been hosting the video series "Minority Report," an online program that focuses on Chicago entrepreneurs and business professionals of color. The "Minority Report" feature, which Brown created, is shown on the Chicago Sun-Times' CST-TV website.
Since March 2012, Brown has been National Business Development Manager for the Chicago Sun-Times, specializing in digital advertising opportunities for Sun-Times clients.
She is a 2007 graduate of DePaul University and the Sandler Sales Institute.
Brown replaces Pepper Miller as host. Miller, the President of the Chicago-based market research and strategic planning firm, The Hunter-Miller Group, has been the host of "UBR" since February 2013. She has exited the station.
Other past hosts of "UBR" have included Alfred Edmond Jr. and Roland Martin. Brown becomes the show's fourth host in five years.
"UBR" is broadcast on WVON-AM on Wednesday mornings at 8:30am, Thursday evenings at 6:00pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:30am. The show features dialogue and debate about the impact of business and economic trends in the local African-American community, as well as nationally and globally. "UBR" uses the help of guest financial experts, business leadership, political leadership, and academia to create an informational show for Chicago entrepreneurs.
