Veteran Activist Mark S. Allen is Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of the National Black Wall Street Chicago. Also, he a popular Blog Spot Publicist on The Black List Pub and his blog called “And The Ordinary People Said”, on ChicagoNow.com Allen is a veteran activist with over 40 years in the Civil Rights Movement. He has worked extensively with many of the historic figures, which were key, national staff and allies, of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., most notably, the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr, and many others. He was one of the youth coordinators of the historic ’83 & ’87 campaigns of Harold Washington, who was Chicago’s first Black Mayor. Allen was the youngest member elected from the 2nd Congressional District to Rev. Jesse Jackson's Illinois Delegate Slate in 1998 Jackson For President Campaign.

He was one of the first to work with Barack Obama, as a Chicago Community Organizer. He was the youngest nighttime talk show host on the legendary Black talk radio station, WVON-AM. He was a longtime community/political analyst on The INTERACTIONS Talk Show on WBGX-AM 1570 .. He worked for WGCI-AM and voice heard on many local and national urban media outlets.

Mark made college broadcast history as an award winning radio personality called, “The Soul of Macomb” on radio stations, WIUM-FM, WHEN-AM. He made college broadcast history as the first program director for the new campus radio station, at Western Illinois (WIUS-FM), in Macomb, Illinois. He continues his work for the civil rights of African Americans and poor people, on local, state, and national levels.

Mr. Allen founded the Consumer Education and Consumer Action Project of National Black Wall Street Chicago. Some of his other initiatives include, his role as Founder/Lead Organizer, Illinois Voter Restoration Civic Education Project, and Chief of Staff to Rev. Michael Carter, National Chairman of National Black Wall Street USA and Chairman of Community Reinvestment Organizing Project of The Monroe Foundation. Also, he has held professional positions with The Illinois Department of Human Rights, Midwest Academy Organizer Training Institute, Citizen Action, Political Action Policy Organization, and National Coalition on Black Voter Participation. Mr. Allen was also listed in the 2012 Edition of Who’s Who in Black Chicago.

The Rev. Al Sharpton calls Mark Allen "One of Chicago's legendary political activists and one of the best organizers of his generation.” Mr. Mark Allen earned his Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from Western Illinois University. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He has two children, son Markus and daughter DaNia.
