CHICAGO, IL Jimmy Lee Tillman, II kicked-off the 2016 primary  campaign for the 1st Congressional District seat in Will County, at Little Joe's, 1300 North Cedar Rd, in New Lenox, Illinois at this year's 1st monthly meeting with the area's GOP precinct committeemen on Saturday, January 9th.

Joining the active group at the neighborhood gathering place were local residents, business owners, and elected officials.

Tillman was warmly received by the room and reminded the attentive crowd that in past elections Will County has always supported him. " The overwhelming support in the 2014 election has proven to the critics that Will County voters are informed and will vote for a candidate from Chicago's South side",Tillman remarked. 

Tillman and the New Lenox GOP organization share similar goals of keeping public office as a public trust, protecting working families from tax increases, fighting to improve education,and supporting freedom and opportunity for all.

David Smith, New Lenox trustee and GOP committeeman believes Tillman has a very strong chance of winning in November's general election and said he "hit it on the head" when he remarked that "Will County is Tillman's base!" 

While not speaking ill of his primary election opponent, Tillman noted that with their help he is the only candidate from the Republican Party that can take on and defeat who ever wins the messy Democratic Party's primary. "A vote for Tillman is a strong message that Will County is important in the 1st Congressional District!"

Kathy Hilton, GOP committeewoman who said she has yet to meet the incumbent stated, "It would be wonderful to have a Congressman that represents the entire district." 

Tillman says his campaign and victory will bridge communities in Illinois together. "The 1st Congressional District will be represented from the urban and middle-class communities in Cook County to the rural and bedroom communities in Will County."
