Before laying out her vision of how she will run the office, More paused to send condolences to the family of slain Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz.Said More, “Our prayers go out to the officer’s family, his friends and fellow officers and to the Fox Lake community that he dedicated his life to.”More told listeners that first and foremost she plans to restore trust and transparency to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office by bringing strong leadership to every level.More declared, “We can’t expect citizens to believe in the office if they don’t see that justice and fairness are being applied across the board.”Midway through the show, a caller grilled More on how she would have handled several controversial police shooting cases, including those involving Flint Farmer and Rekia Boyd. The judge in the Boyd case even raised doubts about the actions of both the officer involved and of incumbent State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez’s office for not bringing a charge of murder against the officer, instead of involuntary manslaughter. Pressed to “just answer the question.” More coolly responded, “I would have charged the officer with murder.” Other callers praised More for her independence. Several of them expressed interest in volunteering to work in her campaign, even to help collect signatures for her petitions.#####John E. DavisPresident/CEO – John E. Davis Media
